Privacy notice
In plain words, and true to how we really work. This explains what we collect when you contact us, why we need it, who helps us handle it, and what you can ask us to do.

Who we are
This site is run by Oolite Electrical Pty Ltd (ABN 18 700 555 460), trading as Oolite Solar & Battery, a licensed electrical business serving Western Sydney & regional NSW. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988. If you have any privacy question, call 0452 419 109 or email ooliteelectrical@gmail.com.
What we collect
Only what we need to answer you and price your job. Nothing more:
- Your name, your phone number, and your email if you give it to us.
- Your suburb or postcode, and what you want: solar, a battery, or a car charger.
- Anything else you choose to add, like a rough bill size, whether you own the home, or a note.
- Basic information your browser sends, like your IP address. We only use it to keep the site safe and working.
We do not ask for private things like health or money records, so please do not send us any. The calculator works on screen without any contact details. You only give us your details if you want a price.
How we collect it
Straight from you: through the form, a phone call, an email, or a text. If someone passes your name on, we still only have what you tell us yourself.
Why we use it
To reply to you, to work out and talk through a price, to do any work you ask us to do, and to deal with warranty or follow-up questions. Asking for a price does not sign you up to anything. We only send updates if you tick the separate box, and you can stop them at any time.
Who helps us handle it
We are a small business, and we use a few trusted online services to run the site and keep track of enquiries. Your details may pass through:
- The company that hosts our website and runs the form.
- A locked database, where your message is stored.
- An email service, to send you a reply and to tell us you got in touch.
- A tool that checks for spam, to stop robots filling in the form.
- A tool we use to keep track of new enquiries and follow them up.
These companies only handle your details to do that one job for us. We do not let them use your information for anything of their own, and we never sell your information. Some of them keep data on computers outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to pick companies that look after your information to the same standard.
How we keep it safe
We take reasonable steps to stop your details being lost, misused, or seen by people who should not see them. Only the two owners can get to them, and the services we use keep them locked and scrambled. No system is ever perfectly safe, but we look after your details carefully.
How long we keep it
We keep your details only as long as we really need them. That means while we are talking, and for a while afterwards in case you come back to us. That is usually up to about 2 years after we last spoke. Then we delete it. If you become a customer, we have to keep some records by law, like tax, safety and warranty records, for as long as the law says. You can ask us to delete your details sooner. See below.
No computer decides anything about you
We do not let a computer make decisions about you that matter. The calculator only works out a rough guess. A real person works out and checks your actual price.
What you can ask us to do
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, to fix it if it is wrong, or to delete it. You can also stop any updates at any time. Just call 0452 419 109 or email ooliteelectrical@gmail.com and we sort it, usually within a few working days.
If something goes wrong
If you are worried about how we have handled your information, please tell us first. Call 0452 419 109 or email ooliteelectrical@gmail.com. We look into it and get back to you. If you are not happy with our answer, you can go to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au. If your information was ever put at serious risk, we act on it, and where the law says we must, we tell you and the OAIC.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle your details, we update this page and the date at the top. If anything here does not match how we really work, tell us and we will fix it.
